Since launching my independent consultancy R Allott Ltd in 2001, I have worked with public and private sector clients on a broad range of organisational development, change management and people development projects, workshops and activities. I have successfully supported individuals, groups and organisations through many varied changes, from business wide re-organisation to individual role development.
Prior to setting up my consultancy I worked within a highly regulated construction division of the Electricity Supply Industry (ESI), initially in Learning and Organisational Development. This division, and successor companies, invested in my professional development and provided many opportunities for me to hone my skills in learning, development and change. Years of significant industry and business transformation gave me experience in: privatisation; divestment; acquisition; merger; growth and re-sizing. The insights and strategic perspective that these experiences provided were invaluable in my later talent management and business partnering roles, and now inform my independent consultancy practice.
I really enjoy exploring fresh challenges and love to learn something new every day. I am a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development (FCIPD), trained in the administration and interpretation of psychometric tests, a member of the British Psychological Society's RQTU (register-qualifications-test-use) and a member of the Solutions Focus in Organisations.
My approach is to work closely with my clients in order to generate effective solutions and develop organisational capability. I believe that it is essential to harness the skills and expertise in the business and use what is already working well, as a basis to move forward. I am told my style is open, engaging, motivating and positive. I apply a solutions focus approach to my HR and OD practice. This provides simple, effective and cost efficient ways to enable lasting change.
